Come explore what makes us one of BC’s Top Employers!ResponsibilitiesPRIMARY PURPOSE: The HRIS System Analyst provides business and application support for BCRTC’s HRIS systems and maintains in‑depth knowledge of applicable business areas by identifying and documenting workflow and current procedures. Supports the business by responding to queries and troubleshooting HRIS related issues impacting business processes, provides solutions to internal customers by developing reports, analyzing data, and reviewing the customer’s requirements. In partnership with the HRIS Systems Support Manager, this role participates in the implementation of new, enhanced, and upgraded applications or business procedures including liaising with various users, departments, and team members.Key AccountabilitiesProvides subject matter expertise and technical support for business process/workflow improvements related to the applicable HRIS system(s) at BCRTC.Manages system data with a high degree of confidentiality and privacy, analyzes HRIS performance metrics, conducts audits and identifies deficiencies of system data to ensure data integrity, and manages location & role access for users.Develops and maintains in‑depth knowledge of applicable business areas through consultations with various users, other application support coordinators, and vendor users, as well as through research and environmental scans to identify trends and opportunities, etc. to ensure the systems and processes are optimized to meet the needs of end users and requirements of other stakeholders.Provides first‑level application support response to queries and troubleshoots HRIS related issues impacting business processes. Prioritizes issues and escalates them with the application support team and vendor as required.



Manages all system support tickets with the vendor.Collaborates with various stakeholders and subject matter experts to define and analyze business needs and design relevant business processes.Recommends system changes or enhancements by using technical expertise and HR knowledge to transform internal processes, increasing efficiency, and optimizing user experience through automation. Supports the creation and sustainment of a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.Responsible for understanding, analyzing, and documenting integrations and data transfer between HR technology and how changes to systems or processes can have upstream or downstream impacts.Manages the configuration, testing (participation and validation of results), quality assurance, and implementation of new systems, functionality, modules, and upgrades and coordinates with various stakeholders as required.Develops, evaluates, and revises procedures, user manuals, technical documentation, training/reference guides, and employee website information to ensure that the information is current, relevant, and effective. Collaborates with the business to support required communications and training delivery, providing hands‑on assistance as required.Provides guidance and advice to users and other stakeholders in the use of the HRIS system, reports, and data. Meets with end users to assist them in defining their requirements.Responsible for providing leadership with reports and advice on items related to Dayforce configuration that may relate to collective agreements and bargaining proposals and implementation of the like.QualificationsEducation and Experience:A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, HR management, business administration, or similar.4 years of experience as an HRIS analyst in a related industry or complex unionized environment. Advanced knowledge of HR Systems and processes (such as payroll, timekeeping & scheduling), including query and reporting tools. Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is an asset.Other RequirementsExceptional ability to gather and interpret data, as well as improve HRIS processes.Solid ability to collaborate, provide technical support, and train staff.Extensive experience in analyzing HRIS and HR data and rules with knowledge of applicable labour and privacy laws.Solid experience in documenting processes,



as well as performing diagnostic tests and audits.Solid ability to keep up with technical innovation and trends in HRIS Analysis.Business Analyst and/or Project Management certificate or designation is an asset.Excellent organizational skills to be able to handle multiple competing priorities and projects occurring simultaneously and meet critical deadlines.Experience in working with diverse groups with competing needs with a focus on providing high‑quality customer service.Ability to work independently but also contribute actively in a team‑oriented environment where collaboration and sharing is key.Solid interpersonal and communication skills to provide advice on HR system capabilities, consult with stakeholders, create training material, and train users. Experience and proficiency using Peoplesoft or equivalent HRIS is an asset.Excellent skills in standard office applications, with adaptability to learn new applications.Solid skills in conducting research, augmented with an orientation towards continuous improvement and learning.Other InformationRecruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. This position works predominately on‑site.Rate of PayThe salary for this position ranges from $77,520 - $116,280 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
