Hours of work: must be able to work all rotating shifts – Days/Evenings/Nights – weekends and statutory holidays. Must be able to share 24/7 on-call for Biomedical Services. Location: Humber River Health, Wilson Site; travelling between all hospital sites required. Labour Group: NowU. Reporting Relationship: Manager, Biomedical Technology. Hourly Rate: $41.356 - $49.394.ResponsibilitiesServices, installs, maintains, and repairs all medical equipment, including but not limited to medical, lab, diagnostic, and electronic medical equipment, safely and promptly.Perform incoming inspections and testing on all new equipment and newly arrived equipment serviced outside the hospital; maintain an up-to-date incoming inspection and service record.Acquire the training and knowledge necessary to repair and service selected new and existing medical equipment.Perform preventive maintenance tasks, maintain PM records, and participate in Department and Hospital Quality programs and initiatives.Maintain competence by participating in hospital education and departmental equipment training programs.Work with other Biomedical Electronics Technologists and Hospital staff to ensure a secure environment for staff, visitors and patients.Knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging systems is preferred; knowledge of IT networks is preferred.Undertake tasks similar to those listed as necessary for the functioning of the Hospital.Engage in project work and other duties as assigned.QualificationsGraduate of a Community College Biomedical Engineering Technologist program,



or Graduate of a Community College Electronic Technologist Program.Two years of hospital biomedical technology experience.CBET Certification is an asset; however, the selected candidate should be eligible to obtain CBET certification within 3 years of hiring.Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication and interpersonal skills.Willing and available to attend manufacturer's training courses.Good command of the English language (verbal and written).Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 35 kg).Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Candidate will be expected to obtain CBET certifications within 3 years from hiring.Excellent attendance and discipline-free record.Valid Ontario driver’s license required for travel between all hospital sites.An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.Equal OpportunityHumber River Health is committed to an inclusive, equitable and accessible workplace.
