Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in community setting for at least 3 months starting January 2026. Position can be continued afterwards for fixed hours per week if interested. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients.
As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on drug therapies, managing medication distribution, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Duties
- Review and interpret physician orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medications prescribed.
- Prepare and dispense medications, including compounding when necessary.
- Provide patient education on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions.
- Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust therapies as needed in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and pharmacy policies.
Requirements
- Valid pharmacist license in Alberta.
- Previous experience in community pharmacy setting preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team environment.
Skills
- Injection Certified
- Additional Prescribing Authority (Preferred)
