Overview The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing while ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The role involves processing prescriptions, maintaining pharmacy records, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service in a retail pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

- Receive, review, and process prescription orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prepare and package medications accurately according to prescription requirements.
- Maintain patient records and update medication profiles.
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications and providing pharmacy services.
- Process insurance claims and resolve reimbursement issues.
- Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, storing, and rotating stock.
- Monitor medication expiration dates and arrange for the disposal of expired products.
- Answer telephone inquiries and assist patients with prescription-related questions, referring clinical inquiries to the pharmacist.
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Support medication reconciliation, documentation,



and quality assurance activities.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Assist with prior authorizations, reimbursement programs, and specialty medication coordination, as required.

Requirements

- Previous experience in a retail, or community pharmacy is a must.
- Experience using pharmacy management software (Fillware) is a must.
- Excellent attention to detail to prevent errors in medication dispensing
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
