The Packaging Machine Operator (PMO) is primarily responsible for packing raw baby leaf lettuce with some time spent troubleshooting issues, maintaining line efficiency, minimizing downtime, effective changeovers between products, and assisting with staff training and assignment. The PMO works hands-on, supporting the Line Lead and Production Labourers in the safe and efficient operation of the packaging of raw baby leaf lettuce and the operation of the box line and its connectivity to the packaging line.Morning: 06:00 am to 12:30pmAfternoon:12:00 pm to 08:30 pmWage:$19.48/hourMain Responsibilities:Responsible for the initial washing, sorting and packing of raw baby leaf lettuceProduction line setup, visual inspection of equipment, production start-up, product changeovers, record keeping, IPCsVerification of labels, weights then metal detector within 2 (two) minutes of product runVerification of packaged product at start of run and all changes to be presented to Line LeaderSet the operating parameters of packaging equipment in accordance with standard operating practicesRaise issues, problems and/or production anomalies and participate in the resolution with the Line LeaderCommunicate any unresolved situations to the Line leaderCarry out the minimum maintenance according to the requested frequency Eg: Labeller, Sonic sealer, box printer and box sealerBox (and bowl) line setup, visual inspection of equipment, coordinating with production start-up, product changeovers, record keeping, IPCsSet the operating parameters of box line equipment in accordance with standard operating practicesComply with OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) policies and procedures, positive manufacturing practices (PGMs)
