Enhance childhood wellness as a Cook at Dze L K'ant Friendship Centre Society in Houston, British Columbia. Focus on culturally secure meal preparation for children and families. In this role, you will support the Friendship Centre Cub House's mission by planning nutritious meals and snacks that reflect Indigenous values and dietary needs.
Key responsibilities include food purchasing, maintaining safety standards, and collaborating with community outreach initiatives.
Your impact will extend to cultural programs and local events. Key Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare culturally relevant meals for children
Monitor inventory, including managing perishable items
Maintain high food safety and sanitation standards
Collaborate with families and community members
Prepare meals for community and cultural events Requirements:
Food Secure Level 1 Certification is required
Experience in childcare or community cooking settings
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
Required Medical Clearance
Knowledge of Indigenous foods is beneficial As a Cook, your role supports the health and nutritional needs of children in a welcoming workplace at Dze L K'ant Friendship Centre Society.
