Make an impact in land conservation with CPAWS-BC as a Conservation Planning Specialist in Vancouver, BC. Engage in crucial land management strategies while working in a versatile workplace. This full-time role at CPAWS-BC collaborates closely with the Land and Freshwater Conservation team.
You will actively participate in land planning, management processes, and direct engagement with First Nations and other organizations for impactful conservation efforts. Your expertise in mapping and spatial analysis will support CPAWS-BC's commitments to biodiversity and effective resource management. Key Responsibilities:
Engage in land management processes across British Columbia
Review First Nations and provincial land use plans
Draft briefing notes and submissions for planning processes
Ensure recommendations support ecological integrity across landscapes
Support accurate counts towards BC's 30x30 target Requirements:
5+ years experience in conservation or resource management
Knowledge of land and freshwater ecosystems
Solid GIS and mapping skills
Proven ability to build relationships with Indigenous Nations
Effective communication and organizational skills Drive conservation outcomes through strategic land planning and engagement with Indigenous partners at CPAWS-BC.
