Certified Ophthalmic Assistant – Dr. Robin Bruen, Ophthalmology
Location: Brantford, Ontario Full‑time
Role Summary
Dr. Robin Bruen’s Ophthalmology practice is seeking a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) to support patient care and clinical operations in a fast‑paced, qualified workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical testing — Visual acuity, tonometry, visual fields, OCT, A‑scan, and biometry for cataract surgery.
Patient preparation — Histories, exam prep, and patient flow.
Procedure assistance — Support during in‑office procedures.
Equipment management — Cleaning, calibration, and readiness.
Administrative support — Scheduling and EMR documentation (Accuro presently).
Patient education — Treatment and follow‑up instructions.
Qualifications
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA).
1–2 years ophthalmic or optometric experience preferred.
Competence with A‑scan and cataract biometry.
Robust communication and patient‑care skills.
EMR experience (Accuro presently) an asset.
