parts and tools required and maintains control of storage and use.Performs and documents internal and external inspections and audits.Participates in emergency (disaster) plan and mock disaster exercises.Works in conjunction with Shannex fire and safety policies to help train staff in fire safety techniques; schedules fire drills and evaluates performance effectiveness.Takes every precaution that is reasonable in the circumstances to ensure the health and safety of employees, residents and all others in the workplace.Additional duties as required.QualificationsA High School Diploma or completion of equivalent education.1–2 years’ experience in construction or building maintenance.Knowledge of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety legislation.Advanced proficiency in English required, other languages considered an asset.Certification in Carpentry, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Plumbing or Electrical trades considered an asset.Knowledge of blueprint reading considered an asset.You can provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening.A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.About ShannexShannex is a family‑owned organization with a vision of Better Living for every stage of life.
