This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the work of the mechanical design team through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a projectEstablish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code complianceCoordinate workload to complete the document on scheduleConduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplinesReview mechanical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplinesWrite and edit mechanical specifications. Select equipment,



mechanical systems and devicesCoordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documentsProduce and coordinate several projects concurrentlyProvide construction contract administration as neededConduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Mechanical Project Coordinators or Mechanical CAD Technicians as neededPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsA minimum of 3 years' experience in mechanical system design of commercial, industrial, or institutional buildingsData Centre, Semiconductor, Healthcare, Laboratory or Sports facilities experienceExperience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desiredExperience using AI productivity tools to accelerate project workstreams including technical writing, code and specification research, and performance simulation and modellingStrong communication and listening skills. Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignmentsGood organizational skills, confident curiosity, strong analytical judgment, leadership potentialAbility to rigorously audit, validate, and verify all AI-generated outputs (calculations, code interpretations, and routing designs) against core mechanical engineering fundamentals and regulationsOther Job DetailsCompliance with HDR and, as applicable, contractor safety policies and procedures.Potential attendance at job sites to support design and construction activities.Required QualificationsBachelor 's degree in Mechanical EngineeringPrevious experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildingsRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.Experience in commercial or institutional facilitiesComputer experience using MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software,
