Program support worker - alternative school

Job details

Education: College/CEGEP. Education, other. Social work, other. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Urban area. High school. Cultural events. Tasks: Accompany students during school and extracurricular activities. Help students individually or in small groups with assignments and reinforce learning and retention concepts under the supervision of classroom teacher. Supervise students during school and extracurricular activities. Assist students with integration into the classroom and school setting. Assist with classroom inventory. Monitor and report student progress to classroom teacher. Assist students with special needs using techniques such as sign language, braille and remedial programs. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Security and safety: Vulnerable sector check. Transportation/travel information: Driver's abstract. Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Repetitive tasks. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Large workload. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Dependability.
