Become a Zone Medical Officer of Health in Alberta, committed to enhancing the well-being of Albertans. This full time role includes key responsibilities in disease control and public health leadership in Edmonton or Calgary. You will report to the Zone Lead, fulfilling essential duties related to public health, including monitoring health trends and developing policies that promote wellness and equity.
Your expertise will guide responses to public health emergencies and provide support to fellow clinicians as a specialist consultant in preventive health practices. Key Responsibilities:
Monitor health and report on public health metrics
Implement disease prevention and immunization strategies
Collaborate on public health policy initiatives
Build partnerships with health service stakeholders
Mentor healthcare specialists in public health principles Requirements:
MD with specialization in Community Medicine or Public Health
CPSA licensure or eligibility required
Experience as a Medical Officer of Health an asset
Demonstrated project and stakeholder management experience
Knowledge of issues affecting Alberta’s diverse populations Drive public health initiatives forward in Alberta with your experience and commitment.
