POSITION:QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN (NIGHT SHIFT)
PURPOSE: facilitate the implementation/maintain of QA best practices within the organization to support the compliance with industry regulations and certifications (BRC, BRC GF, Organic, Non-GMO, Vegan, and others); QA Tech will manage the quality of daily production during the shift, ensure procedures and GMP are followed, train production staff for FSQM; support QA activities and personnel within the plant, accommodating requests for food safety and quality support and communicating the sops and policies in support of the organization.
REPORTS TO: Director of Quality; QA Manager
DEPARTMENT: Quality Department
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the quality of products in daily production by continuous monitoring on the floor.
- Ensure GMP and SSOP are followed, well-maintained, and improved.
- Support and monitor Production to ensure the Safety, Quality, Legality and Authenticity of raw materials and packaged products at the plant level;
- Training of production and cleaning personnels when needed;
- Ensure that process control checklists are filled out correctly on real-time by all relevant operators;
- Oversee in-process product testing conducted by relevant operators;
- Conduct in-process product testing at pre-determined frequency;
- Inspect cleanliness of equipment and processing area, and coordinate maintaining housekeeping and hygiene.
- Perform inspections assigned by Director of Quality and/or QA Manager;
- Observe and evaluate processes, to make immediate corrective actions on issues relating to Food Safety and Quality Management System adherence and improvements;
- Inspect and approval raw materials when receiving;
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Director of Quality and/or QA Manager.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science or equivalent; or 1 years of relevant experience within the food industry
- Excellent communication skills (Bilingual preferred)
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and fast-paced production environments;
- Ability to handle immediate corrective actions and resolve issues;
- Valuable sensory skills are assets;
- Understanding of regulatory requirements within the food industry including GMP, HACCP, BRC, BRC GFMS, Organic, FDA FSMA and CFIA/Health Canada requirements.
HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to work in manufacturing conditions and strong knowledge of Health & Safety in production area
OTHERS:
- Shift is either 4:00PM to 12:00 AM or begins at 6:00PM
- The position is a floor/on-site job
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $28.00 per hour
