OverviewWeirFoulds is seeking an associate lawyer to join our thriving Corporate Practice Group, with an emphasis on providing securities advice to public companies.The ideal candidate will have:Between 2-4 years of experience working on corporate and securities matters for public corporationsSome experience representing private and public investment funds, advisers, and dealers in a broad range of transactional, corporate, compliance and registration related mattersSome experience in blockchain technologies, cryptocurrencies, and other digital assets is also a benefitStrong working knowledge of Canadian securities regulation, including the National Instruments and stock exchange policiesExcellent drafting skills and familiarity reviewing offering documents, acquisition agreements and listing documentsFoundational experience in corporate law including diligence, legal research, corporate filings, governance, and drafting documentsDemonstrated strength in entrepreneurialism including client service, client relationships and business developmentAbility to work with lawyers at all levels and be a team playerAble to balance competing demands as well as being self-motivated, innovative and flexibleConfidence to manage files and clients independentlyStrong work ethic, not afraid of hard work and commitment to excellenceResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will work with members of our Corporate Practice Group representing a variety of private and public corporations on transactions, regulatory matters,
mergers and acquisitions and financings.CompensationThe target salary range for this position is $150,000 - $195,000, commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications.
