A person who is responsible for providing nursing care services according to the bio-psycho-social needs of users or groups under her/his care. She/he evaluates the health condition of users, as well as determines and implements nursing care and treatment plans. She/he provides nursing and medical care and treatment aimed at maintaining and restoring health, as well as preventing disease.
In addition, she/he participates in research activities aimed at promoting health and preventing disease. Under the authority of the Nursing Coordinator, the nurse provides services to clients of all ages, including a large proportion of pediatric clients.
The Chisasibi Regional
Hospital has 25 beds for acute care (5 pediatric), chronic care and respiratory care. In addition to the permanent general practitioners in Chisasibi,
various specialists visit the territory on a regular basis to provide services in obstetrics, surgery, pediatrics, orthopedics, internal medicine, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology and psychiatry. Member of the Order of Quebec Nurses (O.DEC in Nursing; Minimum of two years’ experience in different sectors of a hospital; • Experience in emergency, pediatrics, obstetrics (an asset).
Knowledge of Cree culture and social and health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset; • Possess a capacity for analysis and synthesis Language:
- Fluent in English; • Fluency in Cree or French is an asset;
