Specialist Engineer – Rotating Equipment (Carseland, Alberta)We are seeking a Specialist Engineer – Rotating Equipment to join Orica’s Global Specialist Asset Integrity team. This senior, high impact engineering role is responsible for protecting and optimizing critical rotating equipment across our global manufacturing network. You will act as a subject matter expert and technical authority, influencing asset lifecycle decisions, improving reliability, and supporting complex troubleshooting efforts across multiple sites and regions. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, traveling internationally, and influencing asset performance at scale.What you will be doingProvide technical leadership and engineering expertise across rotating equipment, including lifecycle analysis and turnaround support.Support global manufacturing sites by improving reliability, performance, and equipment integrity.Apply data‑driven engineering insights to reduce operational risk and extend asset life.Lead or contribute to benchmarking, innovation initiatives, and best‑practice development.Serve as a technical contributor to HAZOPs, LOPAs, and functional safety activities.Actively participate in and help lead Communities of Practice across the business.What you will bringBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).7+ years of industry experience, including 4+ years of hands‑on rotating equipment experience in continuous or heavy manufacturing environments.Strong background working with turbomachinery, compressors, steam turbines, and associated systems.Working knowledge of API/ISO standards, NDE methods, vibration analysis, lubrication systems, thermography, and dynamic balancing.Ability to influence across functions with clear communication, technical leadership,



and mentoring skills.Role dimensionsUp to 25% international and domestic travel per year.Travel may include extended trips for turnarounds (up to 5 weeks at a time) to sites in Canada and the United States, with possibility of travel to Europe and Australia.
