About the Opportunity

Haven Family Services is growing, and we are excited to welcome two Program Coordinators to our team in Prince George!

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with children and youth and who are ready to take on a greater role within a residential setting.

As a Program Coordinator, you will provide leadership and oversight within a residential program while supporting both youth and staff. You will be responsible for helping ensure the residence operates safely, effectively, and in alignment with Haven Family Services' values, policies, procedures, and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residence and provide ongoing supervision, guidance, and support to staff.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate residence goals, objectives, policies, and procedures while ensuring required standards are maintained.
- Identify physical, operational, staffing, and programming needs and communicate these to the appropriate leadership.
- Plan and implement changes within the residence in collaboration with staff and management.
- Schedule, supervise, and evaluate residential staff.
- Assist with the recruitment, selection,



onboarding, training, and orientation of staff.
- Provide coaching and guidance to staff regarding policies, procedures, documentation, therapeutic approaches, and day-to-day challenges.
- Identify staff professional development and training needs.
- Monitor and authorize expenditures within the operating budget and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Assist senior management with budget planning and operational needs.
- Ensure the cleanliness, safety, security, and maintenance of the residence are maintained in accordance with applicable standards.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of household and program supplies.
- Support the implementation of individualized plans, routines, activities, and programming for youth.
- Work directly alongside residential support staff and perform Residential Support Worker duties as required.
- Respond to emergent situations and provide leadership and support to staff and youth.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide 24/7 support for staff and residents.
- Promote a positive team culture built on communication, accountability, collaboration, and respect.

- Committed to creating safe, supportive, and meaningful environments for youth.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with staff, families, professionals, and community partners.

Qualifications

- Diploma in a related human or social services field.
- Three years of recent related experience, including at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Training and/or experience in areas such as:
- Behavioural modification
- Supporting youth with complex or additional support needs
- Attachment-based approaches
- Relationship-based interventions
- Trauma-informed practice
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence, First Aid certification, FoodSafe certification.

Experience working with children or youth in residential, educational, recreational, social service, or community-based settings is considered an asset. Why Join Haven?
