Job DescriptionReporting to the Team Leader, Accident Benefit Claims, you are accountable for investigating, evaluating and settling Accident Benefit claims.What To ExpectReport to the Team Leader, Accident Benefit Claims, while investigating, evaluating and settling accident benefit claims in accordance with the Insurance ActSecuring details of claims by corresponding with claimants and/or representativesAssessing coverage eligibility and reviewing and applying interpretations of policy wordings in the resolution of coverage issuesApplying applicable Priority Rules chart to each claim fileProcessing income replacement claimReserving files appropriately after assessing claimMaintaining detailed file records on an electronic claims systemProcessing payments after confirming benefits, eligibility and reservesCoordinating the most effective course of action for claimsConfirming collateral benefitsResponding to claimant correspondence and accident benefit forms in accordance with the applicable legislationReviewing and approving, when appropriate, treatment plans for claimant rehabilitationArranging insurer examinations to determine benefits eligibilityPreparing referral packages and obtaining the necessary medical information for insurer examinationsResponding to assessment recommendationsOther duties as assignedWhat You BringUniversity degree, college diploma in related field or the CIP designationMinimum 2-3 years of claims handling experienceProficient in MS Word and ExcelProfessional, friendly and courteous in all interactions,
