Sales Associate / Key Holder – Pet Valu

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and customer-focused Sales Associate / Key Holder to join our team at Pet Valu!

About the Role

As a Sales Associate / Key Holder, you’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming experience for our customers and their pets. You’ll assist customers with their purchases, provide knowledgeable product recommendations, maintain the store, and help support the team with day-to-day operations.

As a Key Holder, you’ll also take on additional responsibilities when required, including helping lead the team and ensuring the store operates smoothly in the absence of management.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service

Assist customers in selecting products that best suit their pets’ needs

Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately

Stock shelves, receive shipments, and maintain organized product displays

Keep the store clean, safe, and welcoming

Assist with opening and closing procedures

Support and help guide team members during shifts

Handle customer questions and concerns professionally

Follow company policies and procedures





Help create a positive and enjoyable experience for both customers and their pets

What We’re Looking For

Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset

Previous key holder or leadership experience is an asset A genuine love and interest in animals

Excellent communication and people skills

Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently

Comfortable working in a busy retail environment

Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn

Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

Ability to take initiative and be a positive team player

Pay: From $17.60 per hour
