Founded in Vancouver, TidyBoat is an elite yacht canvas and upholstery service company on a mission to redefine what world-class craftsmanship looks like on the water. We don't just repair or replace; we transform. The Opportunity

As a Seamster/Seamstress at TidyBoat, you'll take complete ownership of custom projects; from the first cut of pattern to the final finished product. Working with premium heavy-canvas materials and operating specialized walking foot industrial machines, you'll produce bespoke pieces for some of the most beautiful yachts in the Pacific Northwest.

Every project is unique. Every client trusts us with their vessel. That means the work is meaningful, the standards are high, and the satisfaction of a perfectly finished piece is real. You'll work both independently and alongside our Lead Shop Seamster, growing your skills and your portfolio with every project you complete.

Compensation

Experience Level Expertise Compensation: 2+ Years Industrial/Walking Foot $23–25 / hr

3–5 Years Walking Foot Specialist with direct experience $25–27 / hr

5+ Years Walking Foot Specialist with layout patterning experience $27+ / hr

Specific Field Experience: 2-5 Years Marine Craftsperson $27–30 / hr

5-7 Years Marine Craftsperson $30–35 / hr

7+ Years Marine Craftsperson $35/hr +

What You Bring: You are a craftsperson first. You take pride in the quality of your work, you are naturally meticulous, and you understand that every stitch represents TidyBoat's reputation. You thrive working with your hands on projects that demand both power and precision.

Required experience & qualities:

- 5+ years of experience on industrial or walking foot sewing machines
- Hands-on background fabricating canvas, upholstery, awnings, or large-scale covers/tents
- Patterning experience; ability to read, interpret, and sew from custom patterns
- Physical capability for demanding work including lifting up to 50 lbs
- An obsessive attention to detail balanced with the delicacy the finest materials require
- A professional, approachable and trustworthy demeanour; you are a reflection of our brand
- A tidy workspace; we believe a clean bench is the mark of a skilled craftsperson
