Job Title : Senior Business Analyst – IT Infrastructure
12-month contract | Hybrid in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area | Closing Date: Tuesday, August 25, 2026 | Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa
Our client, a major public transportation organization in the Greater Vancouver region, is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst – IT Infrastructure for an initial 12-month contract , with the possibility of extension.
The Senior Business Analyst will support a significant IT infrastructure refresh program , working across initiatives involving areas such as networking, client computing, data centres, and related enterprise technology infrastructure .
This is a project-focused Business Analyst role requiring strong experience gathering and translating business and technical requirements, documenting current and future-state processes, performing fit-gap analysis, evaluating solution options, and supporting projects through planning, procurement, testing, deployment, and change management.
The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, technical teams, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders to assess existing environments, identify opportunities for improvement and standardization, and develop recommendations that support infrastructure modernization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead requirements gathering and analysis with business stakeholders, technical teams, and subject matter experts
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, brainstorming sessions, and stakeholder meetings to understand business and technical needs
- Document detailed current-state and future-state processes , including business, data, integration, and interface requirements
- Translate business requirements into clear functional, technical, and solution requirements
- Assess existing technology solutions and infrastructure environments across multiple business areas
- Identify opportunities to standardize, consolidate, or improve existing processes and technology solutions
- Conduct detailed fit-gap analyses and support technical feasibility assessments
- Work with project and technical teams to evaluate solution options and develop recommendations that address identified business needs
- Identify technical dependencies, implementation considerations, risks, and potential impacts
- Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices and ensure requirements remain aligned throughout delivery
- Review analysis and requirements deliverables with business and technical stakeholders and obtain appropriate approvals and sign-offs
- Prepare current-state assessments, future-state recommendations, process documentation, and solution analysis
- Support the preparation of RFPs and Statements of Work for technology procurements
- Contribute to configuration, testing, deployment, and organizational change management planning
- Support test execution planning and validation activities
- Prepare project status updates, reports, recommendations, and presentation materials for stakeholders
- Contribute to project plans, schedules, dependencies, and other project management activities as required
- Maintain clear, accurate, and comprehensive business analysis documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Business Analysis and process improvement experience , preferably supporting complex enterprise technology initiatives
- Bachelor's degree and formal training in Business Analysis, process improvement , or a related discipline
- Previous experience supporting IT infrastructure projects , particularly networking, client computing, data centres, or infrastructure modernization, is highly preferred
- Extensive experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating functional and technical requirements
- Strong experience documenting current-state and future-state processes and conducting fit-gap analysis
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical and solution requirements
- Experience evaluating technology solutions and developing evidence-based recommendations
- Experience conducting technical feasibility analysis, identifying dependencies, and supporting technology roadmaps
- Robust experience working with both business stakeholders and technical analysts/advisors
- Experience supporting technology projects through procurement, configuration, testing, deployment, and change management activities
- Strong analytical and data analysis capabilities with the ability to consolidate information from documents, interviews, workshops, and other sources
- Knowledge of project management processes, governance controls, and established Business Analysis methodologies
- Strong workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, communication, and technical writing skills
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Visio and standard Microsoft Office tools
- Experience with SharePoint
- Public-sector and/or large enterprise technology project experience is highly desirable
- CBAP or CCBA certification is an asset but not required
