The Opportunity

Facility Association is seeking a Senior Claims Analyst to join its Claims team.

Reporting to the Director, Claims, the Senior Claims Analyst will act as a claims subject matter expert in Accident Benefits, Bodily Injury, and Property Damage. This role is responsible for overseeing complex claims and helping protect the financial interests of the Association’s book of business, including the Residual Market, Risk Sharing Pool, and the Uninsured Motorist Fund.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced claims professional who enjoys complex problem-solving, research, collaboration, and using technology to improve processes and support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Claims Management

- Conduct quarterly file reviews on behalf of the Claims Committee and provide feedback and recommendations to Servicing Carriers and Risk Sharing Pool members.
- Monitor the investigation, defense, and settlement of Uninsured Automobile Fund claims in the Atlantic Provinces.
- Review Authority Request submissions from counsel, request additional information as needed, and prepare authority recommendations for the appropriate leadership level.
- Provide technical direction to legal counsel, recommend settlements for approval, and attend mandatory mediations and settlement conferences.
- Oversee judgment recovery files to ensure designated law firms actively pursue collection efforts.
- Monitor run-off claims with independent adjusters and provide technical guidance to support their fair and equitable resolution.
- Ensure reserves are properly established and updated,



payments are processed, and claims are managed in compliance with applicable regulations and legislation.

Claims Committee & Leadership Support

- Review Large Loss, Uninsured Automobile Fund, judgment recovery, and run-off claim files.
- Identify complex claims that require presentation to the Claims Committee for a second opinion.
- Prepare analytical reports, recommendations, briefing notes, and related materials for senior management, the Claims Committee, and regulators.
- Identify emerging claims trends and risk exposures.
- Facilitate discussions with Claims Committee members on file review observations, emerging claims risks, industry topics, and outstanding action items.
- Support updates to Claims Guides and Mandates based on feedback from the Claims Committee, Members, Servicing Carriers, and Association leadership.
- Review and provide feedback on GHR, FSRA, and Board of Directors submissions.
- Assist with the development of formal departmental bulletins and memos.

Special Projects & Operational Efficiency

- Support the Director, Claims with assigned projects, including claims reporting rules, contract reviews, Claims Guides, reforms, and claims database system changes.
- Research and prepare background materials to support the development and implementation of new or updated claims procedures and standards.
- Work collaboratively with departmental leads, project managers, and stakeholders across the organization.
- Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and modernize processes, including forms, escalation workflows, tracking systems, and reporting.
- Support vendor invoice reviews by confirming eligibility, cross-checking prior submissions, and preparing payment recommendations for approval.

AI Efficiency and Human Judgment

- Use approved AI-enabled tools responsibly to support claims file reviews, research, data analysis, drafting, summarization, trend identification, and process improvement.
- Understand the limitations and risks of AI,



including accuracy, bias, confidentiality, data quality, explainability, auditability, and regulatory compliance and escalate when further investigation or specialist input is needed, while remaining accountable for all recommendations, communications, and decisions.

Education & Experience

- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
- Five to seven years of automobile claims adjusting experience, including Bodily Injury and/or Accident Benefits.
- CIP or FCIP designation is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of automobile insurance regulatory requirements in the provinces and territories where the Association operates.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Access and Excel, including pivot tables and forms, as well as SharePoint.
- Experience with Tableau is an asset.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex information to leadership, regulators, legal counsel, Servicing Carriers, and other stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, planning, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to improve and automate processes and use technology and AI responsibly, with appropriate human validation, confidentiality, accuracy, and accountability.
