Role: Senior Funds Lawyer Funds law, LP transfers, and private markets The role works with Toronto lawyers on matters that require careful document control and direct client communication. The Funds team manages end-to-end transfers of limited partner interests across multiple client accounts each quarter.

The Senior Funds

Lawyer oversees documentation, KYC and AML work, signing steps, and post-closing actions. Coordinate documentation, KYC and AML, signing, and post-closing actions. Escalate material issues. The lawyer maintains client playbooks and negotiation parameters, identifies material issues for escalation, and keeps each transaction moving through its required legal and operational stages.

Private Markets Legal Experience The role requires a strong background in LP transfers, closed-ended funds, or private markets work. The work calls for explicit negotiation judgment, organized matter management, and the ability to handle multiple client accounts at the same time.

Technology In Legal Delivery

Carta's Funds team works with technology colleagues to improve AI-backed legal delivery tools and workflows.

Lawyer contributes legal judgment to that work while remaining responsible for the accuracy and practical use of transfer processes. The role requires comfort with AI-backed legal tools and collaboration across legal and technology teams.
