In this full-time position, you will report to the Director of Settlement and Family Services, offering end-to-end legal support to newcomers. Your expertise in employment, family, and tenancy law will help clients understand their rights and responsibilities. This role emphasizes the importance of early identification of legal issues within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Guide newcomers through legal literacy education
• Help navigate employment and tenancy laws in Saskatchewan
• Collaborate with various units for comprehensive support
• Offer interpretation support for non-English speakers
• Conduct workshops and presentations to enhance understanding
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in social sciences or related field
• Two years of experience in legal navigation or counseling
• Familiarity with Saskatchewan legal frameworks as an asset
• Robust communication and workshop facilitation skills
• Proficiency in legal research tools is beneficial
