Playtonic is looking for a Contract QA Tester to join our growing team in the beautiful midland’s town of Leamington Spa.

We are looking for a QA Tester to work directly with game development teams. You will be responsible for ensuring our internal and external titles meet the high standards of Playtonic.

Playtonic Games is an independent videogame developer, started by creative talent behind some of the most popular platform games of the past (including Donkey Kong Country and Banjo-Kazooie).

Our aim is to bring fun games that everyone loves to play to new and old audiences alike across multiple platforms! Our core team of veterans mixed with fresh, youthful talent has collectively notched up hundreds of years of videogame development. Our first release as Playtonic Games is Yooka-Laylee, launched in April 2017, and funded as a result of Europe’s biggest video game Kickstarter! We’re based in the heart of the Midlands in the UK near Burton upon Trent, within easy commuting distance of larger cities such as Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and Birmingham. We also have an office in Leamington Spa.

Reporting To: Senior On Team Tester

Responsibilities

Perform QA test passes ranging from full play throughs, critical path tests, to smoke tests.

Ensure that all issues & bugs are reported with all relevant information to support development teams.

Support the development teams to test features as they are implemented.

Be a QA expert for titles you are assigned.

Track issues through the full QA lifecycle.

Requirements

A track record of QA testing video games from start to completion.

Problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to identify issues.

Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for collaboration.

Have a passion for games across many genres and an ability to familiarise yourself with different types of gameplay.

Knowledge of different bug databases.

Knowledge of platform certification requirements is a benefit.
