Join Rocky Mountain School District 6 as an Indigenous Education Support Worker in Golden, BC, focused on enhancing the educational experience for Indigenous students. This part-time role is integral to fostering inclusive learning.
This permanent position (0.4 FTE) starts on September 8, 2026. You will work collaboratively with school administration, staff, and Indigenous communities to support students' academic journey and cultural identity. Your responsibilities will include liaising with families and facilitating programs aimed at truth and reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as a communication link between home and school
• Develop tailored educational plans for Indigenous students
• Lead initiatives promoting student attendance and engagement
• Document and collect data to inform interventions
• Support cultural events and community connections
Requirements:
• Diploma in Indigenous Education Support Worker or similar
• Relevant experience in Indigenous K-12 education
• Valid driver's license
• Robust interpersonal skills and community ties
• Ability to promote culturally inclusive practices
