Join SD 33 Learning Center as a Temporary Full-Time Alternate Education Teacher for Grades 6-8. This role centers on developing strong relationships and delivering innovative curriculum tailored to student needs.
Your mission will be to support students who require additional emotional and behavioral assistance in their learning. The position involves collaborating with diverse teams to create a safe and inclusive workplace, ensuring each student thrives academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
• Adapt and deliver curriculum in core subjects for small groups
• Build strong relationships with students and their families
• Implement restorative and proactive classroom management techniques
• Collaborate with counselors and community resources for comprehensive support
• Integrate Indigenous perspectives into your teaching practices
Requirements:
• Extensive background in teaching, preferably with alternative education focus
• Minimum three years of demonstrated teaching success
• Familiarity with BC teaching standards, assessment, and reporting
• Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom
• Valid driver's license required for school transitions
