SUMMARY:Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager, with additional coaching and direction provided by the supervisors working alongside you, this role provides outstanding personalized food and beverage experiences to all Aquarium visitors and internal guests. Working in a fast-paced high volume quick service restaurant environment, the Food and Beverage Associate is responsible for processing guest orders, preparation and delivery of food and beverage items and maintaining overall cleanliness of the cafes and surrounding areas. Our Food and Beverage Associates are representatives of the Vancouver Aquarium and act as a “tour guide” to all our guests and visitors.ACCOUNTABILITIES:Provide exceptional visitor and guest experiences:Create a positive, friendly and welcoming environment for every visitor and guestAssist with and answer general visitor questions of programs, events, orientation and any other Vancouver Aquarium related inquiries. Act as a “Tour-Guide” within the AquariumAble to confidently discuss all our food and beverage offerings and assist with any dietary restrictionsMaintain a consistent positive demeanor in all circumstancesEnsure all visitor and guest feedback is promptly addressedAdopt the motto “if it is not right,



we will make it right”Anticipate visitor and guest needsEnsure high quality product experience is received by all visitor and guest:Ensure all visitor and guest requests are fulfilled and accurate prior to deliveryEnsure all satellite stations are clean and fully stockedMake certain the cafes and surrounding areas are clean and organizedEnsure proper rotation of all food and beverage itemsMaintain highest levels of cleanliness and professional presentation of Aquarium public and behind the scenes area:Assist in keeping all café areas cleaned and organized, includes but not limited to bussing tables, mopping spills, equipment cleaning and stocking self-serve areasMaintain a safe work environment for all team members and visitors, all safety concerns are promptly communicated to supervisor and managersJOB REQUIREMENTS:Serving It Right certification is requiredClear background check is requiredPrevious food services experience in QSR or café environment is preferredPrevious guest service experience is preferredMust be a motivated self-starterPossess a consistent positive demeanorTake initiative by identifying tasks and completing themStrong guest service and verbal communication skillsStrong decision-making skills with ability to work independently and with minimal supervisionAbility to work well in a team in a rapid-paced environmentAbility to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to safely lift, move and carry a variety of objects up to 30 lbsMust be available weekends and holidaysOnly candidates that are legally eligible to work in Canada will be considered.HOURLY RATE AT $19 PER HOUR#J-18808-Ljbffr
