We are looking for an Indigenous Education SpecialistThe Indigenous Education Specialist leads or contributes to the development, renewal, and delivery of education programs and learning products at the Canadian Museum of History and the Canadian War Museum, supporting the integration of Indigenous perspectives, histories, and ways of knowing and ensuring approaches are respectful, appropriate, and informed by engagement with Indigenous communities and partners. This includes analyzing community and audience needs and learning contexts to inform the design of engaging, curriculum‑aligned experiences; and building and sustaining relationships with Indigenous communities and partners to support the planning, development and delivery of educational activities, initiatives and resources across onsite and national platforms.Working collaboratively across the organization, the Specialist contributes to the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the Indigenous Internship Program, aligned with institutional objectives and capacity. The role establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Indigenous communities to ensure program relevance and credibility, and supports the delivery of inclusive, high‑quality learning experiences that strengthen audience engagement and advance the Museums’ reconciliation commitments.What we are looking for:Relationship‑building skills and working in team-oriented, community‑informed ways.Strong communication skills.Strong facilitation and project management skills.Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in:Developing, implementing, and evaluating education programs or learning initiatives with a focus on Indigenous perspectives, histories,



and ways of knowing.Integrating culturally responsive, community‑informed approaches into education or public programs.Working collaboratively with Indigenous communities, organizations, and partners, including engagement and co‑development of programs or initiatives.Providing expert advice and guidance on Indigenous education, learning approaches, and interpretation of Indigenous content.Planning, coordinating, and managing projects or programs, including timelines, resources, and evaluation of outcomes.Assets:Experience designing and delivering internship or mentorship programs, particularly with Indigenous youth or learners.Experience in museum, heritage, or public education settings.Experience in developing educational resources, interpretive materials, or digital learning content informed by Indigenous knowledge.Knowledge of:Thorough knowledge of Indigenous histories, cultures, perspectives, and ways of knowing.Knowledge of Indigenous communities in Canada, including cultural protocols, worldviews, and historical context relevant to education and learning initiatives.Thorough knowledge of education and learning program development.Knowledge of adult learning principles, program design, curriculum development, and strategies for effective learning in museum or public education contexts.Museum, heritage,
