Join a team of experts dedicated to guiding institutional policy development and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.The OpportunityJob classification: P2031 - Human Resources AdvisorSalary range: $85,000.00 - $92,000.00Hours per week: 37.5Paid leave: 4 Weeks Vacation / 14 Flex Days per yearDeadline to apply: 4:00 PM, April 16, 2026Reporting to the Director, Office of General Counsel, the Access and Privacy Advisor plays a key role in ensuring SAIT’s compliance with access‑to‑information and privacy legislation.The position leads a variety of institutional initiatives, including privacy impact assessments, privacy breach responses and investigations, responding to access‑to‑information requests, providing expert advice and support across the institution, collaborating and liaising with a broad variety of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that privacy considerations are addressed in SAIT’s operations, identifying and mitigating risks to personal information in alignment with legal, ethical, and operational standards, and developing and maintaining SAIT’s access‑to‑information and privacy policies, procedures and processes.The position acts as SAIT’s primary contact with both the provincial Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner and with other public and regulatory bodies on access‑to‑information and privacy matters.How you'll contributePrivacy Compliance and Risk ManagementConduct privacy impact assessments for new and existing programs, projects, and technologies to ensure SAIT complies with its privacy and data protection policies and procedures and with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements, and works with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner to review and address those assessments as required.Identify and evaluate privacy risks associated with SAIT’s data collection, use, disclosure and storage practices and processes, make recommendations to mitigate those risks,



and work with a broad range of internal stakeholders to implement those mitigation strategies.Complete privacy‑related due diligence reviews of third‑party vendors and service providers.Privacy Incident Responses and InvestigationsLead the investigation of and SAIT’s responses to privacy breaches and incidents, including documenting investigative outcomes and providing recommendations to prevent potential recurrence.Conduct assessments of the risk of significant harm to affected individuals and coordinate/carry out required notifications.Access‑to‑Information ManagementRespond to both internal and external access‑to‑information requests in compliance with applicable legislation and with SAIT’s policies and procedures, including coordinating with internal stakeholders to gather responsive records, reviewing and redacting records as appropriate, and responding directly to applicants on SAIT’s behalf.Act as SAIT’s primary contact with the provincial Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner to address challenges and difficult situations in relation to access‑to‑information requests.Institutional Advice and SupportProvide specialized advice to SAIT employees, managers, and leaders at all levels of the institution on a wide variety of matters relating to access‑to‑information and privacy, and including on SAIT’s artificial intelligence initiatives.Provide support to General Counsel in relation to access/privacy issues and related information/data management issues.Participate on a wide variety of internal projects and teams to ensure that privacy considerations are addressed and embedded in SAIT’s business processes and in SAIT’s implementation of recent programs, initiatives and technologies.Develop, update, and deliver training programs and educational materials across the institution relating to access‑to‑information and privacy.Identify and monitor developments in privacy legislation, best practices, guidance from regulatory bodies,
