Reporting to the Department Head of Athletics, Recreation and Student Life, and utilizing a service excellence approach, this position provides a variety of services at the college sports and recreation facilities in Castlegar and Nelson.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides sports program and general administrative support and services by:Setting up and taking down sports equipment for various activities as requiredDemonstrating the use of weights and other sports equipmentPerforming sports facility services including cleaning sports equipmentEnsuring equipment is properly stored and recordedBooking the gym facility, operating cash register and POS, balancing cashMaintaining records for lockers and membershipsProviding first aid treatment as requiredPerforms other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.Skills, Knowledge,
and AbilitiesPhysical ability to perform job dutiesExcellent organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsDemonstrated computer skills including email and word processingAbility to work independently and as part of a teamEducation and ExperienceHigh School GraduationCompletion of a post-secondary academic program in Physical Education and/or a Recreation related fieldMinimum 1-year related experienceFirst Aid Level IWeight Training Certificate or other sports, fitness or recreation related certifications or qualifications preferredThis is a on-call position, commencing as soon as possible.
