Tailings Geotechnical Co-Op (Fall 2026)Hatch is a leading provider of technical solutions to the mining and metals industry, delivering projects worldwide.ResponsibilitiesWork with project managers and specialized engineering practitioners to accomplish tasks associated with tailings process and optimization projects.Help design tailings process systems and other relevant process units.Gain extensive knowledge in sizing and selection of technology and equipment: thickening, classification, filtration, transport.Become familiar with deposition strategies and plans.Coordinate and support all stages of projects and design logistics.Develop and read drawings including process PFDs, PIDs, general arrangement drawings, and site plans.Support the development of capital and operating cost estimates, technical specifications, and contract documentation.Collaborate with clients, vendors, and contractors to complete project deliverables.QualificationsBachelor’s student in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university.Knowledge or education with some notion of tailings process engineering design and construction.Operations or previous engineering design experience is an asset.Demonstrated strong written, verbal communication,
