Become a Municipal Utility Locator with the City of Markham, tasked with securing accurate utility location for critical city infrastructure. This six-month temporary position empowers you to make a tangible impact within the community.

In this role, you will report to the Waterworks Supervisor, engaging in utility locate services essential for maintaining the city’s water and wastewater systems. You’ll operate advanced locating equipment while creating digital sketches of the infrastructure. Additionally, you’ll provide necessary assistance during routine maintenance and repairs, ensuring the integrity and safety of municipal services.

Key Responsibilities:
• Execute locate services for various utility assets




• Utilize advanced equipment for underground verification
• Prepare digital documentation of marked infrastructure
• Perform general maintenance tasks as part of a team
• Support emergency utility response when required

Requirements:
• High school diploma minimum
• Completion of the Ontario One Call course
• Valid Class G driver's licence preferred
• 1-3 years utility locating experience necessary
• Ability to fulfill manual labor requirements
