Northern Lights College is hiring a Health, Safety, and Environment Advisor for a 6-month contract. This role is critical for overseeing safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with workplace regulations.

You will support the Executive Director of HR in implementing health and safety programs while maintaining compliance with WorksafeBC requirements. Your five-year experience in the field will involve monthly inspections, safety chats with staff, and cooperative interactions with safety officers to foster a safe working workplace.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement health and safety programs
• Manage campus safety inspections on a monthly basis
• Interface with WorksafeBC during workplace checks




• Offer safety advice and training to the college community
• Supervise a budget of around $200,000.00

Requirements:
• Certificate or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
• Five years of relevant industry experience
• Certification as a WHMIS instructor
• Solid grasp of safety regulations and compliance
• Valid driver’s license for necessary travel
