We are seeking a talented individual to join our Legal, Compliance & Public Affairs team at Marsh McLennan. This role is based in Toronto and is hybrid, requiring at least three days a week in the office.As aCounsel or Senior Legal Specialist, you will provide strategic and tactical legal guidance to Marsh McLennan's Marsh and Mercer US business, focusing on commercial contracting and related matters. Collaborating closely with the business and other members of the Legal Team, your responsibilities will include reviewing and negotiating client engagement letters, client service agreements, consulting agreements, and statements of work (SOW); assessing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and preparing responses that align with company contractual requirements; negotiating data privacy and security agreements; and effectively communicating company and legal department policies and approval processes for contract modifications to internal colleagues.We will count on you to:Draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements with clients from all industry sectorsAdvise on legal, regulatory, and business risks related to the Marsh & Mercer US businessContribute to and reinforce the Marsh McLennan Legal, Compliance & Public Affairs (“LCPA”) Department's Strategic Plan and initiatives that impact the LCPA organizationCollaborate effectively with business, operations, and legal and compliance colleaguesPromote an ethical culture where employees are encouraged to voice their concerns and opinionsAbove all, exercise sound judgmentWhat you need to have:A minimum of 2 years’ post‑qualification experience in Canada or the US at a law firm or in‑house at a reputable company,

Office‑based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.Salary and BenefitsThe applicable base salary range for this role is $119,200 to $169,200. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
