McAsphalt offers a wide range of asphalt products, including emulsions, cutbacks, polymer‑modified, performance‑graded, roofing, and specialized transportation of those products by rail, land and water. The company also provides comprehensive services and technology solutions, encompassing paving, testing, research and development, engineering, and consulting.Position SummaryThe Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the corporate Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure all products, processes, and operations meet regulatory, industry, and customer requirements. Working within a national organization that operates multiple asphalt terminals, a trucking/ logistics division, and regional testing laboratories, this role ensures consistency and alignment with all corporate quality standards. The Quality Manager oversees the ISO certification process, document control, non‑conformance management, internal audits, and continuous improvement initiatives at corporate and regional level. The position also collaborates broadly across the company to support cross‑functional quality initiatives and enhance overall product reliability and terminal performance. Travel to regional facilities will be required.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Management System (QMS) OversightDevelop, implement and maintain the corporate QMS in alignment with corporate standards, industry regulations, and customer specifications.Define and track site‑level quality objectives, SOP’s, KPIs, and performance metrics.Lead training initiatives to ensure personnel understand QMS requirements,



documentation expectations, and quality responsibilities.Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.G., ISO 9001) and customer‑specific requirements.Document ControlOversee creation, review, approval, issuance, and archiving of controlled documents including SOPs, work instructions, quality plans, forms, and specifications.Ensure document alignment with corporate document control standards.Administer document revision, version control, and periodic review processes.Coordinate communication of updates across terminal teams and ensure controlled documents are readily accessible.Non‑conformance ManagementLead processes for recording, investigating, and resolving non‑conformances (product, process, or system‑related) using the corporate quality software platform (Enbablon).Conduct structured root cause analyses (e.G., 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA) and drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Maintain a non‑conformance database, conduct trend analysis, and report findings to the senior leadership team.Collaborate with regional laboratories and logistics teams when non‑conformances involve product quality, sampling/testing, or transportation factors.Internal AuditsPlan, schedule, and execute internal audits related to QMS compliance, operational procedures, and regulatory obligations.Coordinate with corporate quality leadership to ensure alignment on audit scope, methodology, and reporting standards.Prepare and present audit reports, document findings, and track closure of corrective actions.Continuous Improvement & Risk ManagementLead continuous improvement initiatives at the terminal level, focused on reducing variation,



improving reliability, and enhancing customer satisfaction.Promote a culture of quality awareness and accountability across terminal operations.Share lessons learned and improvement insights with other terminals, logistics teams, and laboratories.Customer & Regulatory InterfaceServe as the company’s quality representative during external or customer audits, inquiries, and technical reviews.Investigate customer complaints and provide timely, documented resolutions.Maintain readiness for external certifications, regulatory inspections, and corporate‑level quality audits.QualificationsEducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in quality management, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field (or equivalent industrial experience).Experience5+ years of quality management, process control, or operations experience in industrial environments such as asphalt, terminals, refining, or petrochemicals.Experience working within a multi‑site or national organization preferred.Solid familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar QMS frameworks.Demonstrated experience with internal audits, CAPA, document control, and customer quality interactions.Skills and CompetenciesStrong understanding of quality systems, process control, and industrial best practices.Proficiency with root cause analysis and problem‑solving tools.Excellent communication, documentation, and cross‑functional coordination skills.Ability to work collaboratively with operations, logistics, laboratory, and corporate teams.High attention to detail and analytical thinking.Compensation InformationCompensation for this role is $70,000–120,000.Equity, Diversity & AccessibilityMcAsphalt is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace.
