This position provides site wide SLP with a focus on patient & family-centred care services and based on identified need within the site, ambulatory areas &/or inpatients and may be subject to change based on operational considerations. This position primarily supports the Augmentative Communication & Educational Technology Service (ACETS) providing assessment & consultation to children & adults across Southern Alberta who are unable to meet their daily communication needs due to developmental, degenerative, physical &/or sensory limitations. ACETS is a Level III Assessment Centre for Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) Speech-Generating Communication Device (SGCD) benefit area. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for interprofessional collaboration, assessment & intervention within the clinical assignment, work with families & community partners, & way-finding support. You will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team; exhibit advanced clinical reasoning & problem-solving skills; be organized in managing complex caseload; demonstrate initiative & adaptability to meet varying clinical & operational needs; demonstrate effective interpersonal & verbal/written communication skills and participate in research, communities of practice, and program development. Supervision of graduate students & therapy assistants is required.
