KEYDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providesexcellent and safe food service to residents.
Ensuresdietary requirements and preferences of residents are met.
Providestray service as directed.
Ensuresmeals are served in a timely manner to ensure proper temperatures.
Servesmeals in the Dining Room (or to the resident's room) to residents and guests.
Setstables, and clears the room(s)of dishes, utensils, etc.
Cleans, mops andvacuums dining room after service, as required.
Handlesvouchers for guest meals.
CompletesMeal Attendance document at every seating, with great attention to detail.
Servessnacks and maintains beverage station areas.
When required, washes dishes, pots, and cleanskitchen equipment and area, as assigned according to established cleaningprocedures. Sanitizes dishwasher area after each meal.
Aids the Kitchen Assistant in the preparationof food and assembly for breakfast service, dessert, meals, as assigned.
Performs other dietary related tasks asassigned.
Performs the set-up, serving and tear downservices at catering and special events.
Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaningduties according to established procedures.
Acts in compliance with all public healthregulations.
Assists other team members as needed or whenbusiness needs dictate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Mustunderstand and perform food service and other related procedures in a safe,professional, courteous, efficient, and organized manner.
Mustmaintain the confidentiality of information relating to residents, families,colleagues, and the operation of the residence.
Mustpossess robust interpersonal skills.
Must bedependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, andbe able to provide performance through management feedback.
Must havethe ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relations bydisplaying tact, courtesy and patience with residents, visitors, and staff.
Mustdisplay empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors, their families, andtheir professional service providers.
Must beable to perform physical work as needed.
Must beable to respond to emergency situations.
SCHEDULE:
Days: TBD: On-call Casual
Potential shift times: 6:30am-2:30pm, 7:00am-2:30pm, 11:30am to 6:30pm, 2:30pm-7:30pm, 3:30pm-7:30pm
WAGE:
$22.51/hour
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Minimumhigh school education or equivalent.
Food SafeLevel 1.
Serving itRight Certificate (If 19 or older).
Mustobtain a WHMIS certificate within initial training period.
PERSONAL:
Must beable to speak English fluently and communicate effectively both verbally and inthe composition of written materials.
Must passa Criminal Record Check.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be ingood physical and mental health.
Thisposition requires the incumbent to stand for extended periods of time and tolift and carry objects up to 40 lbs.
