Empower Indigenous individuals as a Culturally Safe Indigenous Support Worker with Island Health, delivering essential life skills training and advocacy. Your work will emphasize community health and substance use support services.

In this full time role, you will provide specialized support to clients experiencing severe substance use issues within Indigenous communities. Your understanding of health protocols, along with your commitment to cultural safety, will be vital. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will aim to enhance client independence while addressing their comprehensive needs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver life skills training focusing on client needs
• Motivate clients in engaging with their care plans




• Capture and report client progress and feedback
• Engage with family members for holistic support
• Facilitate connections with community health resources

Requirements:
• Diploma in Community Social Services or equivalent
• Two years' experience with Indigenous populations preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of harm reduction practices
• Valid Class 5 vehicle license required
• Current Level C Basic Life Saving Certificate
