West Fraser is currently recruiting a Journeyperson Pipefitter for Cariboo Pulp. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is a key player in the company's continuous improvement efforts, focusing on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.ResponsibilitiesPerform equipment repairs within planned time frames and complete related record-keeping.Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and codes to determine layout, pipe type, size, and required tools.Apply system operation knowledge to select the most suitable pipe type and size.Perform general maintenance, including replacement of worn components.Install support equipment such as hangers, brackets, pneumatic equipment, and hydraulic cylinders according to specifications.Inspect the worksite to ensure no obstructions; repair or modify designs if necessary.Cut pipes using handheld and power tools (hammer, chisel, torch, pipe cutter, pipe cutting machine).Thread and bend pipes using pipe bending tools and threading machines.Assemble and install tubes, fittings,
and non‑metallic attachments.Join pipes using threads, soldering, welding, brazing, or cemented connections.Check systems for leaks.Inspect piping systems and machinery to detect malfunctions.QualificationsA valid Red Seal Pipefitter certification.A valid Class 5 driver’s license.Experience in heavy industry.Commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace.Solid communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently with little supervision.Compensation & BenefitsThe hourly pay rate follows the U.S. Collective Agreement between Unifor 1115 and Cariboo Pulp & Paper Company at the current rate of 48.66 $/hour.Benefits include medical, dental, pension, life insurance, disability, accident insurance, vacation, and holidays.LocationCariboo Pulp and Paper is located in Quesnel, BC.#J-18808-Ljbffr
