HOURS OF WORK75 hours per pay period; Monday to Friday with weekend rotation.POSTING DATE14 April 2026CLOSING DATE30 April 2026UNIONService Employee’s International Union-ServiceWAGE RANGE$34.325 to $36.132 per hourPOSITION OBJECTIVEReporting to the Facilities Site Supervisor, the incumbent works as part of the Engineering Services team to operate and maintain hospital refrigeration units and building HVAC systems for Niagara Health in optimal, secure working order in accordance with CSA and TSSA Standards, Building and Fire Codes and other related legislated requirements. Repairs, maintains, tests and installs refrigeration equipment, HVAC equipment and controls and other equipment throughout the sites. Performs preventive maintenance tasks and other general maintenance duties as assigned. Works closely with building automation and computerized maintenance management systems. Ability to work with team members to meet deadlines and solve problems under minimal supervision. Contributes to continuous quality improvement and service excellence. The incumbent interacts via pager, phone, verbal and written work orders with all department levels, contractors and internal customers. Must conform to all safety policies and procedures. This position is primarily a day shift with afternoon and weekend shift rotation. This position may include assignments or relocation to other sites within Niagara Health.QUALIFICATIONSMinimum grade 12 or equivalentOntario Certificate of Qualification for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic for Industrial RefrigerationHold a valid and up-to-date Ozone Depletion Prevention card5 years related experience including routine service and repair of refrigeration equipment, operation and maintenance of hospital building equipment, furnishings, plumbing and electrical fixtures to ensure proper and safe working orderDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain and service HVAC controls in conjunction with building automation systemsExperience and training on building automation systems such as Optimira, Siemens, Honeywell,
