Enhance community support as an Outreach Van Driver with Boyle Street Community Services. This vital position places you in direct contact with individuals facing homelessness, providing critical supplies and resources in Edmonton.
You will report to the Program Manager and take part in ongoing community engagement to help clients access health, mental health, and addiction services. Your work promotes harm reduction and protected practices, making a real difference in the lives of those you meet. Weekly involvement in outreach events will further enrich your connection with the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver necessary harm reduction supplies locally
• Assess community needs in areas of high poverty
• Address crises and implement de-escalation strategies
• Help clients navigate health integration pathways
• Provide educational resources on safe practices
Requirements:
• Valid Class 5 Non GDL license with driving record
• Up-to-date Police Checks within six months
• First Aid certification or enrollment
• Willingness to participate in outreach activities
• Empathetic, non-judgemental communication skills
