Launch your career as a Substation Electrician with Burlington Hydro, focusing on vital community infrastructure. Available for both journeypersons and apprentices, this on-site role offers hands-on experience.

Your main responsibility will be to maintain and test substation equipment while working under the supervision of qualified team members. Significant tasks include cable testing, troubleshooting faults, and maintaining safety standards as outlined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Apprentices will advance through their training by actively participating in the MEARIE certification program.

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and troubleshoot substation equipment
• Conduct routine and emergency electrical tests




• Inspect and report on conditions of systems
• Manage accurate maintenance documentation
• Assist in the installation of service systems

Requirements:
• Graduation from Electrical Engineering Technology program
• Enrolled in MEARIE certification program or equivalent
• Valid Ontario G Class driver’s license
• Effective communication and physical stamina
• Familiarity with AutoCAD preferred
