This temporary position reports directly to the Director of Facilities and is crucial for keeping the 13 BCGEU buildings well-maintained and operational. As a Building Operator, you will collaborate with Facilities staff and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) efficiently. Your effective monitoring and maintenance will greatly impact the safety and comfort of union members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Conduct building inspections and report abnormalities
• Respond to emergency alarms and facility incidents
• Manage inventory of tools and supplies
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory procedures
Requirements:
• Minimum eight years of building operations experience
• Valid Class 4 Power Engineer's Certificate
• Experience managing asbestos materials
• Proficiency with CMMS and maintenance technology
• Ability to travel within British Columbia as required
