PRNFN is seeking an Education Coordinator to coordinate and support education programs and services for Nation members, including Little Peoples Learning Lodge (LPLL), Daycare and Head Start, on- and off-reserve students, Post-Secondary Education, and the SITAG portfolio.
The Education Coordinator will act as a central liaison between students, families, education staff, schools, school divisions, training institutions, community partners, the Education Portfolio Holder, and Chief and Council.
Roles & Responsibilities
Coordinate communication between LPLL, Daycare/Head Start, schools, students, families, and education partners.
Support elementary, high school, and post-secondary students with approved educational resources and services.
Assist post-secondary students with applications, funding, registration, documentation, and academic follow-up.
Coordinate SITAG referrals, participant files, claims, supporting documents, training, and employment-related follow-up.
Track education, post-secondary, and SITAG budgets, purchases, claims,
and expenditures.
Work with Finance on requisitions, coding, receipts, and account information.
Research and prepare grants and funding applications.
Track funding agreements, deadlines, eligible expenses, and reporting requirements.
Prepare quarterly and annual program and financial reports.
Maintain organized and confidential student, program, and financial records.
Organize education meetings, agendas, minutes, reports, and follow-up items.
Provide updates and recommendations to the Education Portfolio Holder.
Qualifications
Satisfactory CPIC (Criminal Record Check) and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Post-secondary education in Education, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum 23 years related experience.
Knowledge of First Nations education and student supports is an asset.
