OverviewThe Toronto Region Board of Trade is seeking anInternto support thePolicyteam fromMay to August 2026 .This role is ideal for a third/fourth year undergraduate or graduate student with an interest in public policy, advocacy, and economic issues affecting the Toronto region. Reporting to a senior member of the Policy team, the intern will provide research support across a range of policy files and initiatives that advance the Board’s advocacy agenda.This internship is designed for a student who is detail-oriented, curious, and eager to gain exposure to applied public policy in a professional, quick-paced environment. The successful candidate will develop foundational skills in policy research, stakeholder support, and policy operations while contributing to work that informs business leaders and government decision-makers.Role DescriptionProvide coordination and research support to the Policy team across active policy files and projects.Assist with research on public policy and economic issues, including reviewing reports, articles, and public data sources.Support the preparation and organization of materials for policy meetings, briefings, and internal discussions.Assist with the planning and execution of policy-related events, such as roundtables or policy forums.Help organize, maintain and review policy documents, research files,



and reference materials.Contribute to special projects or ad hoc tasks that support the Board’s policy and advocacy priorities.Your Experience IncludesCurrent enrollment in an under-graduate or graduate program in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.Demonstrated interest in public policy, advocacy, or economic issues at the municipal, provincial, or national level.Strong written communication skills and the ability to summarize information clearly and concisely.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured environment.Comfort working independently while contributing as part of a collaborative team.You’re often described as:Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a strong communicatorCollaborative with colleagues from all levels and departmentsAgile and open to changing directions, adopting new practices, or learning something newCurious, a self-starter with the ability to work independentlyA strong multitasker with the ability to navigate competing deadlinesThis role has a pay range of up to $20 per hour.The Board welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
