You don’t have to live in Kamloops and can start work from most locations in B.C., i.E. Cariboo, Okanagan. Kamloops/Thompson, Cariboo, OkanaganJob Status Full Time PermanentCompensation $86,500 - $107,000Retirement Savings $4.00/hr pension - 100% paid by Arrow!Benefits Full Benefits which include dental, life insurance, pharmaceutical, vision care, chiropractor, massage, EAP, and more... 100% paid by Arrow!Schedule Scheduled home time; 5 on 2 off; sleeper truckAccess to post-secondary scholarship opportunities for full time employees' spouses, children, grandchildren (eligibility requirements apply).Paid in truck orientation with Arrow mentor (not MELT)Paid wait and delay time (where applicable)Year round workNew and well maintained equipmentResponsibilitiesOversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations.Perform pre and post and en route inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, road-worthiness and regulatory compliance.Comply with applicable legislation including secure operation, load securement, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions.Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics.Efficiently maneuver truck and trailer(s)
into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.May operate loading equipment as per role requirements.Check mobile equipment (i.E. frontend loaders) to ensure that mechanical and safety equipment is in good working order.Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to the relevant supervisor.Report all safety hazards or conditions encountered at load, unload, yard and shop sites.Record, maintain and check all relevant paperwork (i.E. bill of lading) and documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other driversComplete electronic and/or manual logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulationsCommunicate effectively and courteously with the public, customers, and co-workersAssist in loading and unloading of trucksPerform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secureEnsure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements.
