Job Summary

Responsibilities

- Monitor and facilitate supervised visitations between children and their parents or guardians to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
- Assess family dynamics and intervene when conflicts or behavioral issues arise, employing conflict management and crisis intervention techniques.
- Document visitation sessions accurately, including observations related to child safety, emotional well-being, and family interactions.
- Collaborate with child protective services, family law professionals, and other community agencies to support case plans and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Provide support to children during visits, especially those with disabilities or special needs, ensuring their comfort and emotional security.




- Implement motivational interviewing strategies to encourage positive communication and cooperation among family members.
- Respond effectively to crises or emergencies during visitation sessions, prioritizing the safety of all involved parties.

Requirements

- Proven experience or training in social work, child welfare, or related fields such as behavioral health or family law.
- Robust skills in crisis management, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention techniques.
- Ability to work compassionately with children of all ages, including those with disabilities or special needs.
- Knowledge of child protective services procedures, mandated reporting requirements, and legal considerations related to supervised visitation.
- Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on motivational interviewing and conflict management.
- Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations calmly while maintaining professionalism.
- Prior experience working with families involved in child welfare cases is highly desirable.
