Maintenance Supervisor (Industrial Electrical 442A / 309A) Straight Day Shift (Monday Friday; 7:00 AM 3:30 PM) $50.00 $52.00 / hour + Overtime Mississauga, ON (West) Automated Industrial Manufacturing & Skilled Trades Leadership Opportunity Overview Are you a licensed Industrial Electrician (442A or 309A) who combines practical automation troubleshooting skills with proven crew leadership? A premier, rapidly expanding manufacturer of high-volume building products is launching a state-of-the-art production facility in Mississauga.
We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to anchor our technical department and direct an on-site team of 6 skilled maintenance technicians and mechanics.
In this key leadership role, you will report directly to the Plant Manager, taking ownership of line reliability across advanced automated packaging, extrusion, molding, and wrapping systems.

Responsibilities Team Leadership & Operations (~50%) Direct, schedule, and mentor a team of ~6 skilled maintenance technicians and mechanics across daily shift operations.
Prioritize daily work orders,
lead morning production-maintenance alignment huddles, and manage emergency downtime responses.
Enforce strict safety protocols, Electrical Safety Code compliance (CSA Z462), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and WHMIS guidelines.
Automation & Electrical Troubleshooting (~30%) Serve as the lead technical resource for breakdown diagnostics on 600V 3-phase power, motors, VFDs, sensors, control circuits, and automated machinery. PLC Diagnostic Ownership (6/10 to 7/10 Proficiency): Connect via laptop/interface to Allen-Bradley PLC platforms (RSLogix 500 / Studio 5000 / Compact
Logix) to read ladder logic, force I/O, trace fault codes, reset drives, and isolate field device issues to restore line flow fast. (Full software engineering/from-scratch code writing is not required).
Reliability & CMMS Planning (~20%) Manage, refine, and execute the preventive maintenance (PM) program using CMMS software to improve Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
Oversee spare parts inventory, manage technical vendor/contractor relationships, and lead root-cause analysis (RCA) on recurring equipment failures.
Qualifications Mandatory Ontario Trade Ticket: Active 442A Industrial Electrician or 309A Construction & Maintenance license. (Dual tickets such as 433A Millwright or Gas Fitter credentials are strong assets).
Leadership Experience: Minimum 3+ years in a supervisory, team lead, or maintenance management role overseeing technicians in a manufacturing, packaging, or automated plant environment.
Practical Automation & PLC Proficiency: Solid, practical ability (6/107/10 level) in PLC diagnostics using Allen-Bradley platforms (reading ladder logic, checking inputs/outputs, troubleshooting network faults).
Strong familiarity with VFD configuration, AC/DC drives, photo-eyes,
proximity sensors, and HMI touchscreens.
Mechanical Aptitude: Working knowledge of industrial mechanical systems (conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and pumps) to effectively guide multi-trade technicians.
Technical Literacy: Ability to read complex electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
Mindset: Strong sense of operational urgency, clear communication style, and a supportive team-builder attitude.
