Job Description Work Conditions: Competitivesalary 15daysofpaidvacationannually Competitive retirement plan with employer contributions matching up to 5% Comprehensive health advantages fully covered by the employer, including medical, dental, and vision care Immediate access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Virtual Healthcare services from your start date On the daily, you will: Employee Relations & Engagement Serve as a trusted HR partner for employees and managers, providing guidance on employee relations matters including performance management, attendance, policy interpretation, disciplinary actions, and grievance resolution.
Lead and support workplace investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action processes, and labor relations activities while ensuring compliance with collective agreement, company policies, and employment legislation.
Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture through employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and communication initiatives.
Talent Acquisition &Employee;
Experience Manage full-cycle recruitment activities, from sourcing and interviewing candidates to extending offers.
Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth and engaging employee experience from day one.
Support HR programs such as performance reviews, employee engagement surveys, and recognition initiatives. HR Administration & Compliance Maintain accurate HR records, personnel files, and HRIS data while preparing employment-related documentation and reports.
Administer employee benefits, trackattendanceand leave programs, coordinate training activities,
and support compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with HR teams across McWane divisions.
Payroll
Administration Process payroll accurately and on time for hourly employees using
Payworks.
Manage timecards, vacation and leave balances, union dues, payroll reconciliations, Records of Employment, and payroll-related reporting.
Respond to employee and union inquiriesregardingpayroll, earnings, and timekeeping matters.
Qualifications Qualifications: Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline; Minimum 5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a unionized and/or manufacturing environment.
Solid knowledge of employment legislation, HR best practices, employee relations, and labor relations.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems; experience with Smart
Recruiters is considered an asset. A collaborative mindset,strong senseof ownership, and commitment to continuous improvement. CHRP designation and bilingualism (English/French) are considered assets.
